RFK Jr.: I Would Cut the Military Budget in Half

‘There’s no reason that we need to be spending more on our military today than we were at the height of the Cold War’

EXCERPT:

KENNEDY JR.: “I’m going to cut the military budget in half, which will bring it down to the level in 2024 dollars that it was during the Cold War. There’s no reason — the height of the Cold War. There’s no reason that we need to be spending more on our military today than we were at the height of the Cold War. We need to protect our borders but most of the money for the military is now spent not on protecting America’s national security, but on dominating the globe and being the policeman around the globe. And I’m going to stop that. I’m going to close many of the 800 bases that we have abroad. The Chinese only have one and a half bases. The Russians only have one. We don’t need 800. I’m also going to end the chronic disease epidemic, which is the biggest cause. That’s $4.3 trillion. That’s five times our military budget.”
