MSNBC’s Lisa Rubin: Trump Saying that Biden’s DoJ Was Pulling ‘D.A. Alvin Bragg’s Strings’ Is ‘Dangerously and Perniciously Racist’

‘And it’s also dangerously and pernicious racist because it assumes that D.A. Alvin Bragg, who is Black, could not have executed this prosecution on his own without the supervision of a bunch of white elders’

While discussing what possible sentence former President Donald Trump could face on July 11 following his hush money trial conviction, MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin called one of Trump’s conspiratorial claims about the case “factually false” while making an incendiary claim of her own.

During the conversation on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Rubin said she believed Trump could face some sort of incarceration and pointed to all the circumstances surrounding the ex-president’s behavior during the trial. But it was the head-scratching theory that Rubin made at the end that was noteworthy — that Trump’s claims that President Joe Biden’s Justice Department was “pulling Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg’s strings” were racist.
