NYT’s Patrick Healy: Six-Figure Speeches ‘a Real Vulnerability’ for Clinton

Young independent voters ‘see her as part of big money, Wall Street driven big corporations system’

HEALY: "It's a real vulnerability, especially here in New Hampshire. I mean, it's just sort of amazing. she had several good answers before that, and then this is something that has been such a vulnerability for so long and the fact that she didn't have a better way to answer, when a lot of Democrats felt discomfort about this in the sense that she was greedy when she got out of the State Department and sort of cashed in on that experience. You know, it's something that comes up in the polls with younger voters and especially with young, independent voters who are such a part of Sanders' base. They see her as this sort of big money, Wall Street driven, big corporation system where she literally got $675,000 not 20 years ago from Wall Street, but just a couple of years ago. And the idea I think for a lot of people that she didn't really think she was going to be running for president, she wasn't sure, maybe she was done, that just sort of comes across, even for some Democrats, as disingenuous and really hits on -- I think at least you see in the polls, a sense with younger voters that she's not someone who they necessarily trust in terms of what she is saying."
