Trevor Noah: ‘Being the Race that You Are Is Like Having’ a Door Key Card

‘And there are some people don’t understand why their badges aren’t swiping, but they don’t know they have the badge’

TRANSCRIPT:

NOAH: "I was — I try to explain to people as I go, being the race that you are is like having a a badge, you know, like those doors that you have at companies that let you in doors, you know what I mean? There’s little badges that you go and swipe. And there are some people don’t understand why their badges aren't swiping, but they don’t know they have the badge. Does that make sense?"
BRENNAN: "Yeah, it's a fob they don't know they have on."
NOAH: "Yeah, so some people are just like, 'What are you talking about? The door opens all the time.' And then other people are like, 'The door doesn’t like me.' I think it’s — I think it’s — yeah, I think it’s omnipresence. I think it’s continuous."
