RFK Jr. Tells Supporters in Colorado that CNN’s Plan to Keep Him Off the Debate Stage is Backfiring

‘There’s a FEC rule that says you can’t make a deal to keep one of the candidates off the stage’

EXCERPT:

KENNEDY JR.: “The other qualification they had that they were dead certain would keep me off the stage was that each of the candidates in order to qualify to be on the stage, have to be on enough state ballots to earn 270 electoral votes. Well, today we have enough signatures to qualify for 201. (Cheering and Applause) But by June 20th, we will be -- we will be -- have enough signatures to qualify for 343. (Cheering and Applause) And -- and do you know who will not have enough signatures to qualify for any states? President Biden. And President Trump. And we don't know why CNN made this mistake, but we think it's because they lifted the criteria from the presidential commission on debates which always holds its debates after the convention. So it holds its debates in September. By then, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have nominees and those nominees qualify for every state. But President Biden wanted the debate early. And so they're doing it in June. But President Biden is not the nominee of any party today. (Laughter) And President Trump is not the nominee of any party. So CNN is in a big dilemma today. (Laughter) And we were -- we were supposed to have a meeting with them this afternoon. They sent us a message saying they couldn't find the guy who was supposed to lead the meeting. (Laughter) This is a news organization. They're supposed to be able to find people. But they couldn't find that guy.”
