RASKIN: "Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I would like to thank the gentleman for pointing out that I accurately cited the statistics for all of the declines in crime, in violent crime, in homicides in the District of Columbia in 2024. Alas, I do have to correct my friend in his history, because there might be some students watching this. Thomas Jefferson never signed the Constitution. He was, of course, on a diplomatic mission when the Constitution was being signed in Philadelphia, but he did write the Declaration of Independence."
