Newt Gingrich: ‘If You Can’t Be a Pro-American Campus, You Shouldn’t Be Getting the American Taxpayers’ Money’
‘We don’t have to put up with this’
EXCERPT:
GINGRICH: “Look, Congress ought to take two clear steps. One is to eliminate the tax advantage of these giant endowments. I think Harvard’s endowment is well over $40 billion. They make a billion dollars a year out of their endowment while charging outrageous fees. Second, they should cut off the money. They should have a very clear position: If you can’t be a pro American campus, you shouldn’t be getting the American taxpayers’ money.”
