Deputy Treasury Sec. On Inflation: What ‘Matters Is the Trend Line’

‘We look forward to contininuing to see the trend lines come down and the economy continues to grow’

EXCERPT:

ADEYEMO: “What I can tell you is that -- what I would tell you even after the number comes out, which is the thing that matters is the trend line. And what we've seen is we've seen inflation come down over the last few years, and what we're committed to doing is doing everything we can on the -- from the White House and from the Treasury Department to continue to press into supply chains and making sure that those work as well as possible so that supply and demand can meet fundamentally. The Fed, as you know, is responsible here in terms of dealing with inflation. But our goal is to do everything we can on our end. And we look forward to continuing to see the trend lines come down and to see our economy continue to grow.”
