Miles Taylor on Trump’s Second Term: Imagine if 911 Asked ‘Did You Vote Democrat or Republican,’ Instead of What’s Your Emergency

‘That’s what Trump wants to do’

EXCERPT:

TAYLOR: “Now, in the first term, as everyone knows, we talked about a lot of ridiculous things, often things that were immoral, even more frequently things that were illegal or unconstitutional. Trump was looking towards reelection and avoided many of those very damaging actions. In the second term, he won’t be talked out of it. So what do I mean by a different type of government. I want you to imagine for a second, Willie, if you called 911 and instead of them saying, 'What’s your emergency,' they said, 'Willie, did you vote Democrat or did you vote Republican?' That’s what Trump wanted to do on a red state by blue state basis. If there was a tornado or a hurricane or a terrorist attack, Trump wanted to withhold aid from blue states to get leverage and give aid to red states to reward them for fealty. That happened in meetings with him in the Oval Office. He wanted to withhold from people who didn’t support him. That’s not how government is supposed to work. Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, you don't want your government to operate that way."
