Sen. Sherrod Brown on His GOP Opponent for Ohio Senate Seat: He Is Not Fighting for Ohio, But for Himself

‘My record is clear to reach across the aisle and get things done’

EXCERPT:

BROWN: “My opponent has always looked out for himself. He's even said he's not going to work with people whom he disagrees with in Washington, which means he's not fighting for Ohio, he's not representing Ohio. I think the best example of that is, even though Ohio strongly, decisively, importantly passed abortion rights, constitutional amendment by 13 points last fall, my opponent continues to say that we should have a national abortion ban. No, no exceptions for rape, no exceptions for life of the mother. And so we know that he -- I mean, the arrogance of -- even though we said that by 13 points in the state he is going to continue to fight against it, tells you he's looking out for himself more than the people of Ohio.”
