‘Morning Joe’: Clinton ‘Now Abandoning New Hampshire’ To Focus on Iowa

Scarborough: ‘Those numbers could end up in New Hampshire’

TODD: “This is the bigger story — look I agree.” [crosstalk]
SCARBOROUGH: “This is the biggest story —
BRZEZINSKI: “This is the lead story today.”
TODD: “This is a bigger story. If you’re a Bernie Sanders supporter, I understand if you’re throwing stuff at your TV going — how come — what does it take for you guys to cover our side of the race with the same intensity because look at what he’s doing. Now, I don’t believe 30. I just — it’s hard — if she’s down 27 points then there’s a bigger problem here. I just can’t believe —“
SCARBOROUGH: “Isn’t there though, Chuck at this point a bigger problem there?”
TODD: ”Well I mean, if she loses Iowa, it’s a 100 percent a bigger problem there. You can chalk up losing New Hampshire to somebody from a neighboring state if you win by 5 or 10 points.”
SCARBOROUGH: “Right. So, strategically now —“
TODD: “Twenty or 30 points, that’s —”
SCARBOROUGH: “And those numbers could end up that bad in New Hampshire. Because my understanding is that the Clinton people now are abandoning New Hampshire and they’re going to pour their resources, a majority into Iowa. Because, Chuck, obviously they now if they lose Iowa [indecipherable] the door.”
TODD: “Well, that’s the think, right? It’s —“ [crosstalk]
SCARBOROUGH: “And by the way, can you believe we’re talking about —“
TODD: “Right.”
SCARBOROUGH: “— that way a weak out”
TODD: “If — well, and the thing is they can’t stage a comeback in New Hampshire without winning Iowa. So I think that that is — in some ways it’s smart, put it all in Iowa because you can’t do anything in New Hampshire if you lose Iowa.”
