VP Harris: Chiefs Parade Shooting Is Another Day Where America Experienced ‘Senseless Violence’
TRANSCRIPT:
HARRIS: "So, today was supposed to be a day for celebration, for a community of people to come together and feel a sense of joy. And yet, it is another day where America has experienced senseless gun violence. You know, gun violence is the number one cause of death for the children of America. Not some form of illness or car accidents. Gun violence. And the reality is that a lot of this can be prevented if members of legislatures, including the United States Congress, just had the courage to act with reasonable gun safety laws. I think it's incredibly important for everyone to understand it doesn't have to be this way. It doesn't have to be this way. Of course, Doug and I and all of us, I know our prayers are with the families who have been so horribly affected and the community that has been so horribly affected. Thank you."
