‘I’m Miss Bonkers!’ Jacqueline Bisset Explains Her Nervous, Teary Golden Globes Speech (Mediaite)
Actress Jacqueline Bisset went viral this week for her rather strange speech at the Golden Globes, and Wednesday night she opened up about that surreal moment to Piers Morgan, jokingly declaring, “I’m Miss Bonkers!” Bisset called it a “delightfully confusing” moment, and said she was “so taken aback” by how surreal the moment was, and so that’s why she was rambling and took some awkwardly long pauses when she was on stage.
Morgan asked her what was running through her mind when she left the stage. Bisset said she was “happy that it was over, and thrilled to have that Golden Globe in my hand.” Morgan said that both her speech and Emma Thompson just winging it when she appeared were both “just delightfully British and eccentric and weird” for the American audience.
Bisset also addressed the fact she dropped the word “shit” during her speech, remarking that “the world is so hypocritical” and asking “that word I said is not a big deal, is it?”
