Preet Bharara: Judge Sees Trump and His Lawyers ‘Through Lens of Lack of Credibility’

‘The lawyers here are relitigating things that have already been decided in what lawyers call a partial summary judgment motion’

EXCERPT:

BHARARA: “They’re behind the eight ball in a very serious way, not only because the judges found that there is liability with respect to one of the counts in the civil complaint, but also in doing so, it made certain findings and made certain statements in the opinion that make clear what this judge thinks of the credibility not only of Donald Trump, but of his lawyers. Repeatedly says that there were filings made and representations made to banks and to insurance companies. There were fabrications, not just exaggerations. At one point, the judge says, in response to arguments being made about the valuations of these assets by Donald Trump and his team, that this is a fantasy world, not the real world. So whatever arguments are going to been made are going to be made with a judge — to a judge who’s already looking at the parties, Donald Trump himself and his lawyers, through lens of lack of credibility. So I think it’s an uphill battle for them.”
