Kara Frederick: Statistics Show that Bosses Fired 27 Percent of GenZ Within a Month
EXCERPT:
FREDERICK: “Well, if you look at, say, report from Business Insider from April 2023, they said that bosses fired 27% of gen Z workers within a month. So, statistics show that gen Z is actually not proving themselves to bosses. You know, I manage a couple of gen Z-ers and they do very, very well, but it takes an exceptional person. I think they have to buck the trend of their own generation. And we do know that gen Z is actually more subject to nihilism, given they spend most of their life atomized on social media, looking at these platforms like TikTok that are feeding them things like self-harm videos, suicidal ideation, telling them nothing matters and the climate is going to destroy us all. So I think it really matters, the information environment this generation is swimming in, and I do think it affects their performance at work and their ambition."
