Andrew Weissmann: Jack Smith Can Bring Dissemination Charges Against Trump in New Jersey

‘Dissemination is a really serious crime’

EXCERPT:

WEISMANN: “This dissemination happened in Bedminster. So one -- one thing that gives DOJ an option to do is wait and see how this case goes, see what's happening with Judge Cannon, see how she's handling it, sort of essentially, how disastrous she might be as she was in the investigation. And these are definitely charges that could be brought in New Jersey. A dissemination as I said, is a really serious crime. They're still timely, meaning that they -- they could be brought within the right statute of limitations. And the venue because it happened in Bedminster is in New Jersey so the government wouldn't be stuck with Aileen Cannon overseeing this case.”
