CNN political reporter Peter Hamby said an unnamed former Obama administration official harshly critiqued President Obama’s leadership Monday on New Day.

The president, according to the anonymous source, needs to “find an issue to campaign on, this is what he’s good at. He’s really good at campaigning, maybe not governing.”

Hamby said he the source made the comments in reaction to the president’s flagging poll numbers just before Christmas.
