Mizzou Student on Reason for Protests: ‘There’s Been a Lot of Racial Tensions’

RASCON: "After two months of anger and unrest on campus, an announcement as sudden as it was stunning."
WOLFE: "I'm resigning as president of the university of Missouri system."
RASCON: "And hours later the chancellor announced he will be stepping down at the end of the year. Students say this semester has been plagued with incidents of racial harassment."
UNKNOWN FEMALE: "I think there's been a lot of racial tensions and I'm glad that something has finally been done."
RASCON: "In September the black student body president said a bunch of white students screamed the n-word at him again."
UNKNOWN MALE: "I'm walking down the street, and someone screams the N word at me again."
RASCON: "And the -- a swastikas painted on the wall and the administration's response was lacking. And leader Jonathan butler ended his hunger strike after eight days."
BUTLER: "Our humanity is worth fighting for. That's what we're saying in this."
RASCON: "They celebrate not because it's the end of the journey but because it's the new beginning."
