NBC News: ‘57 Percent of Teen Girls Said They Felt Persistently Sad or Hopeless in 2021’
‘According to this new CDC report 30% of teen girls said that they have seriously considered suicide’
EXCERPT:
SNOW: “57 percent of U.S. teen girls said they felt persistently sad or hopeless in 2021. That is double the number for boys. It’s also a nearly 60 percent increase, and the highest level reported for girls over the past decade. NBC News medical Reporter Erika Edwards joins us now. Erika, I actually have a piece tonight on nightly news about a curriculum for teens in high school, a class on happiness and how to create happiness. It really speaks to what we’re seeing in this report today. What are the issues? And what else are the solutions?”
EDWARDS: “Yeah, Kate, hey. Those issues are certainly worrisome.”
