MSNBC Reporter Gets Emotional Discussing Tyre Nichols’ Death
EXCERPT:
HYLTON: “We anticipated this. We knew in our reporting that this was coming, that there was going to be a delay in care, a delay in any first aid given to him. And that delay was longer, frankly, Chris, than what I anticipated to see. You see officers drag him like he is not a human being, rest him up against their car, shine a light in his face. And then it just seems like one person after another is standing around while he is clearly slumped over and in need of aid. And it just — the minutes felt so long as I was watching it. Sorry. I’ve been covering this all day and I thought I could get through the whole day without getting emotional about it. But it felt like forever before anyone seemed to realize the gravity of what had happened to this guy.”
