Labor Sec. Walsh: The Southern Border Is Not the Immigration We’re Talking About

‘Every industrialized country in the world depends on immigration to fill jobs they can’t fill’

EXCERPT:

WALSH: "Yeah, I think when we talk about immigration outside your show here, people automatically think of the southern border. That’s not the immigration we’re talking about. And I think that certainly -- "
QUICK: "Yeah, but the Republicans’ point has been that you can’t divorce that."
WALSH: "I know that. But I talk to businesses, and business that might be leaning Republican, and I tell them all the time, 'You need to talk to your friends in Congress because they need to –- Congress needs to figure it out.' I mean, impacting the economy impacts both Republicans and Democrats, Republican businesses and Democratic businesses, in the future. Unfortunately, we can’t let what’s happening in the southern border get caught up in our economy and what’s good for employment in America."
