Rep. Comer: Passing Omnibus Means FBI ‘Unaccountable’ for Twitter Files
EXCERPT:
COMER: "We’ve already asked the three Twitter employees that were implicated in the first Twitter dump, Mr. Roth, Ms. Gadde and Mr. Baker, to come to the Oversight Committee. We want to interview them in January, on day one. We have a lot of questions. But the more that is released to the public, the more astonished we are, the more troubled we are. You know, my first thoughts were that there were just one or two rogue FBI employees who were going to Twitter and Facebook telling them, 'This Hunter Biden laptop story is Russian disinformation and don't put it on your platform,' but now we learn the FBI had a — had a group of 80 agents. 80 agents! And we learned today with this put up, they had paid Twitter over $3 million for their time with all the time they had taken up in telling them who to censor and what to censor. Now, this is just Twitter. We already heard from Zuckerberg, hint that this was happening at Facebook. Imagine what went on at Google and YouTube and what’s going on in the mainstream media. This FBI is out of control. $3 million to Twitter, multiply that times three other platforms, $12 million in salary and benefits to those 80 employees. Who is funding this?! I mean, Congress has to step up in the next few days and say, 'We gotta wait till January to fund these government agencies or else they’re going to continue to be unaccountable."
