GOP Rep. Gallagher: Kevin McCarthy ‘Did More Than Anyone Else’ to Help Us Win the House Majority

GALLAGHER: “Well, I am involved. I’ve had multiple conversation with them. To me, it boils down to a few things. One, Kevin McCarthy has gone out of his way to engage with those who are dissatisfied, ask them for their proposed rules changes, and try to meet them in the middle. Two, Kevin did more than anyone else to help us win the majority. Now, I know we wanted a bigger majority. But I look at the Senate, and I think, man, I’d rather be — I’m glad I’m going to be in the majority and not in the minority. A win is a win. It’s better than nothing. We have the opportunity, if nothing else, to pull the emergency brake on all the crazy, out of control progressive nonsense that’s coming out of the White House right now. And also, we just can’t lose the first two months in Congress. We have really important things to do. For example, Kevin McCarthy is standing up a select committee on China. We need to get serious when it comes to combatting the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party. There is no time to waste.”
