Newt Gingrich: ‘We Got a Little Too Much into Being Anti-Biden and Not Enough into Being Pro-Prosperity’

‘And I think that slowed down the momentum’

EXCERPT:

GINGRICH: “Well, I think if they did too little, it was of offering the kind of specific positive program Kevin McCarthy had developed, the Commitment to America. But I think that a lot of the members didn’t know how to go out and use it as effectively as it could have been. The very first section of it is on economic growth and has all the basic ideas that you helped develop with Reagan, that have been sort of the center of the Republican Party’s program ever since. And I think, frankly, we got a little too much into being anti-Biden and not enough into being pro-prosperity, and I think that that slowed down the momentum. But, I also tell you, Larry, we got four or five million more votes than the Democrats and I think a lot of the analysis is sort of shooting from the hip without looking yet in detail. We did far better with women than we did in 2018.”
