Fmr. D.C. Homicide Detective: We Live in the United States of America but We’re Not that United

‘We don’t know the motive here’

EXCERPT:

WILLIAMS: “Yeah, unfortunately, we live in what we define as the United States of America, but we are not that united. There was a time that if you had a beef with someone, you would use your fists or you would have a fight with them. Now it’s that we have to kill them. If you look most recently at Justice Kavanaugh’s home, that was a man found with a gun. If you listen to Judge Samuel Alito because of the leak of the Roe vs. Wade decision, that he felt that Supreme Court justices were in fact targets. You can just name a potpourri of so many things that unfortunately that has led to violence in our country because of the rhetoric that goes on. As we’ve said, Neil, over and over, we don’t know the motive here. We’re going to have to wait and see the motive. But there’s something about DePape. And everything I have been able to come upon at this stage leads me to believe that he had some violence leanings and that he was a very disturbed man.”
