VANCE: "I think to bring down inflation, we need to do two things. First of all, we need to stop spending money that we don’t have. That runaway spending is one of the reasons why we have inflation. Larry Summers, an Obama administration economist, said, if these guys pass the bill, inflation will get worse. He was right. Democrats were right. Republicans were right. But the leadership on Capitol Hill was wrong. The other thing we have to do, Lindsay, is really open up America’s energy sector. Joe Biden has shut down pipelines, he shut down permitting for oil and gas leases. He’s also made it impossible to invest in Ohio’s oil and gas sector. That rising energy price that people see at the pump, that they see in their utility bills, that our farmers see when they’re paying more for diesel, that was the direct result of policies enacted by Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and supported a hundred percent by Tim Ryan."
