Lanhee Chen Calls for California Gas Tax Audit

CHEN: "So, we have a real serious problem in California, and people need to understand why that is. Why are our gas prices so much higher in California? It starts with taxes. 56 cents a gallon goes to the state of California, no accountability for where that money goes. As state controller, one of the first things I want to do, let’s audit the gas tax. Where does that money go? Figure out what they’re actually using it on and have some accountability for people who pay the tax."
