GOP Rep. Cammack on Voting Yes on Gay Marriage: ‘It’s Not up to the Gov’t to Determine What Happiness Looks Like for a Person’

‘It’s not up to the Government to say that one person gets to enjoy the liberty of the Constitution, but another doesn’t’

TRANSCRIPT:

CAMMACK: "I believe that being a conservative means believing truly in what the Founders intended when they said, 'Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.' And it's not up to the government to determine what happiness looks like for a person. It's not up to the government to say that one person gets to enjoy liberty and the immunities and privileges of the Constitution, but another person does not. And I think that's where we say, this is where the government needs to get the heck out of our lives."
