Kimberly Atkins Stohr: Roe vs. Wade Overturn Is a ‘Result of a Long Sustained Very Well-Funded Conservative Campaign’

‘This didn’t just happen overnight’

EXCERPT:

ATKINS STOHR: "Yeah. I mean -- and not to mention, Joe, the cases in which people are just trying to get health care. Women who may have complications during their pregnancy and need lifesaving care and won’t be able to get it because there’s no exception for life or health of the mother. Keep in mind, going back to your original point, that by and large for decades now, a decade ago, two decades ago, five decades ago, Americans by and large largely supported keeping Roe as the law of the land and making abortion available at least in some circumstances and legal in the United States. This is against that popular grain. It’s also important to note, that this is the result -- this didn’t just happen overnight -- this is the result of a long sustained very well-funded conservative campaign led by conservative groups and members the Christian right, to install members of Congress, members of local governments in place, who would install judges who would be willing to overturn Roe v. Wade.”
