Mark Halperin: ‘Weakness Is at the Heart of Joe Biden’s Political Problems Now’

‘This is not the way Bill Clinton or Barack Obama would have handled this situation’

TRANSCRIPT:

HALPERIN: "On so many issues they are beholden to the far left. And part of that is that’s what's keeping his poll numbers high. If his approval rating is, say, 35, 36, 37, 38 percent, a lot of that is the far left. And so, he runs the risk if he alienates them of going even lower. I think that one thing you hear in that sound bite is that, again, even the press that normally roots for Democratic presidents, they see the weakness and weakness is at the heart of Joe Biden's political problems now. Across the political spectrum, analysts, politicians, even some of his closest advisers and friends see this is a real problem, and their reaction in the 36-48 hours since the judge’s decision, it just reeked of weakness, indecisiveness. This is not the way Bill Clinton or Barack Obama would've handled the situation, I’m quite confident."
