MSNBC: City of Boston Declares Snow Emergency
EXCERPT:
PARK: “It's pretty brutal right now. The snow is really starting to come down. We’re reporting 3 inches per hour in some spots. Right now, on the ground, we have about 6 to 8 inches, but keep in mind, this is a long duration storm. This will continue on for several more hours, so some places could see a foot of snow, other spots 2 feet of snow. But Massachusetts, they are tackling this storm in stride. They have thousands of pieces of equipment out and about today. They've been working around the clock, clearing the roadways, but Alex, as you can see, the snow is blowing all around. It’s really kind of hard to keep up with this storm so crews are up against a lot of challenges right now. But we’re also tracking the conditions out on the coast. Cape Cod, wind gusts, close to 90 miles per hour. It is just insane out there. I just saw some pictures, waves are crashing. They’re slammed with a ton of snow but they’re also dealing with flooding as well. So obviously conditions are extremely dangerous. At last check, the temperature here, minus 2. It feels like minus 2.”
