The Chris Salcedo Show Preamble: A Time of Choosing, Your Kids or Big Government
EXCERPT:
SALCEDO: “A time of choosing, your kids or big government. This is the civil rights issue of our day that is confronting America’s parents in tonight’s preamble. Some of the most current data says that the United States spends over $1.5 trillion a year on education, and that number’s growing. On average, using state and federal money, each student is allocated over $16,000 toward gov ed and only gov ed. The United States spends the most per pupil in the world on education. Now given that, you’d expect our students would be number one in the world academically, right? No. All that money gets the United States an average score in science and reading among the industrialized nations. All that money in the hands of anti-American left wingers who dominate gov ed yields math achievement scores from American high school students that fall below major international benchmarks, pushing the United States down to the bottom half of 72 nations and regions around the world who participate in the international test known as the Programme for International Student Assessment or PISA. Among the 35 industrialized nations that are members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the United States now ranks 31st out of 35. Gov ed sucks at educating our children, but it excels at creating moneymaking opportunities for adults out there, and that’s why our kids’ futures are being sacrificed by both Republicans and Democrats.”
