NBC Tells Americans To Shop at ‘International & Ethnic Markets’ To Save Money

‘A lot of times they still have cuts of meats that are cheaper than normal’

EXCERPT:

NGUYEN: "So we’re to talk about ways to substitute, right, but also shop at international and ethnic markets. A lot of times they’ll have cuts of meat that are cheaper than normal. The other thing to do is substitute, add in beans, like really supplement your meats. Like, let’s say you have little pound of ground beef and you’re going to make chili. Add more beans, use half of pound of that meet, the next day use the other half on tacos or burrito, so that one pound becomes two meals. When it comes to produce, the thing you want to do is skip anything that’s pre-cut or pre-sliced. That always costs more. And consider buying frozen or canned vegetables. They are more nutritious, actually, because they’re usually packaged right at the peak."
