Manafort: I Was So Over-Charged that the Prosecution Was Admonished By the Judge
‘Do you want to put this guy in jail forever?’
EXCERPT:
MANAFORT: “Yes, it was Weissmann. He was the one that was the lead prosecutor on my case."
HANNITY: "His pitbull."
MANAFORT: "And from day one — yeah, he was the one. I mean, you know, they so overcharged me on my case that Judge Ellis in Virginia actually admonished from the bench saying, 'Why are you bringing all of these charges? Do you want to put this guy in jail forever?' And they were trying to put me in jail forever. I mean, unless I would cooperate, that was what they were promising to do. In fact, you know, when we did the presentation in the D.C. case, they argued for the maximum penalty for me because they didn’t want me to be free."
