Miley Cyrus Graciously Deflects Nicki Minaj’s Attack at MTV Awards

At Sunday's Video Music Awards, Nicki Minaj took the opportunity of receiving an award for launching an attack on Miley Cyrus, whom she accused of attacking her in the press. Cyrus then deflected the attack and congratulated Minaj:

WILSON: And the VMA goes to Nicki Minaj --  'Anaconda'!"

MINAJ: "Hey, guys, how are you? [Cheers and applause] Where are my pretty girls at? Make some noise. Where are my dudes at getting all the money, make some noise. My girls making their money. Don't be out here depending on these snotty-nosed boys, either."

"Well, I want to thank my beautiful fans. I love you so much. You guys are so epic and I hope that you follow your dreams all the time. Oh, you know, this is so random. You know who I want to thank tonight? My pastor. Thank you, Pastor Lydia, I love you so much. And now back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me in the press. Miley, what's good?!" 
CYRUS: "We're all in this industry, we all do interviews and they all know how to manipulate. Nicki, congratulations. And just because the VMAs have already started doesn't mean the voting is done. You can still vote at home for who you think is the future of music. It's the artist to watch award. Past winners of this award have gone on to incredible success and past losers of this award have still gone on to make their mark on the VMA stage." 

"Me. I lost this award back in 2008. Whatever, no big deal. I'm not bitter. It's just an award. And I persevered. Here are the nominees still vying for your vote. Congratulations, Nicki."
