Baseball Umpire Ejects Nationals’ GM Mike Rizzo for Not Wearing a Mask
EXCERPT:
COMMENTATOR: “Somebody has been ejected, either Joe West or Hunter Wendelstedt saw it, and they’ve asked security to be called in either second deck or third deck. They say, ‘We’ll wait for you.’ Better not be Mike Rizzo, the Nationals GM who is traveling with the club here in Atlanta.”
COMMENTATOR 2: “Oh, I think it is. It might be, the way he was yelling back. He’s all by himself, I will tell you that.”
COMMENTATOR: “Mike is the only guy that our cameras can see. And if they’re going to ask him to exit because of the mask and there’s nobody around him, then that’s the height of silliness in my opinion.”
COMMENTATOR 2: “If he’s by himself in that box —“
COMMENTATOR: “Exactly.”
COMMENTATOR 2: “ — I kind of have to agree. But he obviously was yelling at something. Wasn’t he? I mean, to get their attention, he had to be screaming at them.”
