PENCE: “You know, like every American, we cherish and will always defend the First Amendment right of every one of our countrymen. We respect the concerns of peaceful protesters. The people of Michigan know that most of the men and women who put on the uniform of law enforcement every day are the best people in this country.

And we will stand with them. We're listening. We're learning. The action the President took this week reflects that we're leading. But I'll make you all a promise: We're not going to defund the police!"
