Mark Cuban: This Is a Unique Opportunity for Us to Do Something that Addresses Income Inequality
EXCERPT:
CUBAN: "Well, I'm not against corporate bailouts. I think we're in a new normal now, life is different. So our number one priority should be supporting companies who keep their — who retain their employees. We have to do all we can to prevent firings and layoffs. And if that means bailouts, subsidies, special-priced loans, I'm all for it. But, when we negotiate those deals, we have to be very cognizant that this is a unique opportunity for us to do something that addresses income inequality. What I said was, anything that we do that benefits an executive at a company, we need to do the exact same thing to benefit the hourly worker or the lowest paid worker at that company. You know, two years from now, hopefully, when we’re looking back on all of this, we’ll say, 'Why don’t we use this as a chance to help the everyday worker?' I just want to get ahead of that. So, you know, we just need to — this is the time to address it."
