Linda Sarsour: We Had to Have Minority Women Teach White Women How to Protest
‘It was like just working triple overtime’
EXCERPT:
SARSOUR: “When I looked around at the women that were with us, I was like, yeah, this is going to be hard. Because a lot of the women that did show up to organize with us at the Women’s March were not organizers, they were never activists, they even told us they never marched a day in their lives, these are many of the white women. So of course we went and recruited a lot of women of color organizers to help kind of, you know, build the ranks of people who had some experience. And so really what it was, it was like just working triple overtime.”
