TUR: “John, why is this a new idea now? Why is this not something that had been discussed beforehand?”

HARWOOD: “Well, it’s become a prominent idea now because there’s so much focus on the widening gap between rich and poor in the United States, and the way our economy has evolved toward greater and greater levels of income inequality. Now, there are valid objections to the wealth tax and you hear that from people like Larry Summers, the former Treasury Secretary and National Economic Council Director under President Obama.”
