Billy Bush Claims Trump Access Hollywood Tape Was ‘Weaponized’ Amid His Return to Television

EXCERPT:

KING: "Yeah. Okay. But the public didn't know. Everybody knew about the tape, you're saying?" 
BUSH: "Yeah. And I was comfortable that it wasn’t going to be weaponized.”
KING: "Is that how you feel, it was weaponized?"
BUSH: "Oh, sure. Yeah. I got taken out, but I wasn’t the target."
KING: "So when it comes out, how did you think it was going to end after the tape was released? Did you think, 'I'll get through this?'"
BUSH: "Well, I was told that, ‘You’re good. Don’t worry about it. It’s not you. You didn’t say anything.' Remember, it was leaked on a Friday, and then Sunday morning I walked out that morning with my bags to go back to work and the driver said, 'I'm sorry, they cancelled the car.' I said, 'Oh, it must be a mistake.' I called my lawyer and said, 'Are we okay?' He said, 'No.'"
