HURD: “I hope some of my Democratic senators that aren’t running for president start working with the White House to actually try to get something done. I also hope that we see a little bit more resources going to countering violent extremism within the Department of Homeland security so that we can work on this, you know, that -- that radicalization process. There’s another piece of legislation overwhelming and bipartisan piece of legislation from Dr. Brian Babin, Republican from Houston, Val Demings from Florida, who’s a Democrat, it’s called a Behavioral Threat Assessment Management Program that the U.S. Secret Service has and extends that to local law enforcement. So there’s a lot of things that we can do in order to -- in order to protect our communities."
