‘Entourage’ Actress Debi Mazar: Italy Is ‘Backwards’ Because ‘It’s Where The Vatican Is’

The actress was commenting on comments from the clothing company, Dolce & Gabbana

HILL: "I was looking this whole Dolce & Gabbana thing and going back and forth with Elton John. Of all people, why they are tripping about who marries who?"

MAZAR: "I think unfortunately, because of the times we live in with the Internet I also believe things get lost in translation. Italy is a very backwards, old country, to a degree. It’s a very Catholic country. There’s a lot of oppression still there because it is, you know, where the Vatican is, it’s Catholic. So, when you raise Sicilian -- I'm sure coming out for Dolce & Gabbana was really hard. And they believe in their parents, they want to say the right things, and maybe that they would prefer to see men and women make love and they don't have kids. And they clearly don't want kids. To talk about synthetic kids, that's kind of stupid because, you know, thank God for science, it's given a gift to so many people to be able to have children. I just think it was dumb comment misconstrued in a way and the Internet just takes off."
