BOOKER: "My whole life has been shaped by public education. My parents moved to New Jersey in pursuit of a great public school and fascinatingly, in that time in 19 -- it was 1969, in order to move to the areas of the state with the best public schools they actually had a white couple opposes them to buy their house because they were denied a housing. And so my parents showed the incredible sacrifice by people who all had to come together from volunteering to go through that process to give me the opportunity to go to best public schools in the state.”
