VAUGHAN: “It is very tough, because it is not just the conditions that they are coming from, but the fact that the smuggling organizations that they pay to bring them to the border, treat them like animals or worse. And, they are kept in squalid conditions, exposed to who knows what. It is really, really tough for their border patrol and federal government to deal with the situation. This is a really new phenomenon in illegal migration, with people bringing their kids, and essentially, using them as a deportation shield or ticket into the country. And, you know, what border patrol has now checked everyone in their custody, and they have pledged to be doing more thorough medical examination, when in the future, with kids that they ever had. But, this is not going to fix the problem. I think that our polities entice people, here.”
