Rabbi Emeritus, Tree of Life Synagogue on Armed Guards: ‘That Probably Has To Be Re-Evaluated’
‘Obviously those are decisions that have to be made and perhaps the government has to help in that regard’
RUSH EXCERPT:
BERKUN: “I’m not sure. Obviously those are decisions that have to be made and perhaps the government has to help in that regard. Our synagogue tree of life for years, decades, has hired off duty police to be there on the high holidays. We have big crowds of people. During the week, the building is secured in the sense that we have to be buzzed in with a camera overlooking the door. But each and every shahbat morning, we don’t have that, the doors are open, that probably has to be re-evaluated.”
