Sam Stein: Trump’s Finances a ‘Ticking Time-Bomb,’ ‘Could Be a Political Disaster for Him’

STEIN: “The pignus around Trump's finances is a ticking time-bomb, obviously, for very clear reasons. This could be a political disaster for him. We are looking at a midterm election in which the Democrats probably will take the over the House, they're the favorite to do so. At that point, they will be able to look under the hood at his finances and we may very well get a really clear understanding of the extent of the dealings that he has not just with Russia, but in this case Saudi Arabia. This could add a whole new different color to this entire saga. Trump may want to deny that there's any financial ties, but it's very clear that they do exist. The question is the extent to which they exist. If we find out that some of his hesitancy in coming down hard on the Saudis is due to financial leanings that his company has or the Kushner company has, that would be a huge scandal of epic proportions.”
