SIMONETTI: "He is taking a victory lap and maybe trying to change some of the conversation as of late, but he does have things he can tout. When he talks about these records, I’m assuming he means small business optimism, which is through the roof. This is the bulk of our economy who create the jobs, the small businesses. If they’re feeling confident, well, they are going it pay their workers more money and they’re starting to, and they’re going to invest in their businesses, which they are doing. So that’s a great sign. The economy is certainly chugging along. That is translating to the consumer. You guys probably know this, more Amazon boxes on the doorstep, more trips to Target.
