AMAR: "He’s thoughtful. He reads. He reads across the board. He hires clerks across the board. Women as well as men. He’s respected by all of the justices on the Supreme Court. Across the spectrum. They hire his law clerks. They followed various opinions that he’s — ideas where he’s written some — a lorer court opinions and the Supreme Court has followed his lead. Basically he’s smart and open-minded and fair and decent. He actually supported Merrick Garland and don’t be surprised if Merrick Garland supports him.
