Michael Goodwin: Hillary Is Setting Herself Up to Run If She Wants to and If No Dem Emerges

‘I think she will have no trouble raising money’

EXCERPT:

EARHARDT: "In an op-ed you said that she might not be going away. Explain why you think that."
GOODWIN: "Well, look, she's created a group Onward Together, which I say is really just a campaign vehicle in waiting. She is using to raise money and to spread that money around with a lot of smaller groups. And when you read the emails -- I got five in the last 32 days, I think it was, they sound as if they come from resistance headquarters. It is about she’s overseeing the resistance, that's how she portrays it. And I think that what she is up to is, creating a place for herself, so that if no one emerges, from among all the favorite sons and daughters of the Democratic Party, she is in a position to go and to go quickly. She will have the vehicle. She'll have sort of cabinet on the shelf waiting for her. And I think she will have no trouble raising money. I think any Democratic nominee will have all the money in the world to run against President Trump. But I think she is setting herself up that if she wants to, she can, if no one else emerges, it's her."
